Support means us helping you or others, or you helping us.

PLAY MONTGOMERYSHIRE HELPING OTHERS

As a play network, Play Montgomeryshire was set up not only to provide play (see Activities), but also to support play from other providers (see About Us). We do this through:

  • Hiring out toys and selling craft materials at low cost (see Resources).
  • Supporting new groups to set up, guiding them through the process of adopting constitutions and policies, registering with CSSIW and working to standards of good practice.
  • Provision of training, either directly or by signposting play providers to training that is available from other organisations.
  • Provision of advice and information from our resource centre and staff. We can help with matters varying from simple legal enquiries to art, craft and games ideas, or simply how to make play dough.
  • Representation of play within Montgomeryshire at a county and national level, particularly within the development of policies and practice.
YOU HELPING US

Play Montgomeryshire is a voluntary organisation, which means it is managed by a committee of unpaid trustees.

Although we employ staff to support the trustees and to provide our services, we rely heavily on the generosity of people like yourself to give us time to help us out.

You can help by:

  • Becoming a trustee and helping us manage Play Montgomeryshire. Almost anyone over 18 can become a trustee.
  • Fundraising for us – sponsored events, bring and buys, raffles etc.
  • Helping to make, mend and maintain toys.
  • Helping at our activities – playschemes, youth clubs, Toy Library.
  • Anything else you can think of!

Please understand that these days we have to carry out checks on the suitability of helpers to work with children.
