Every year we need to raise in the region of £80,000 to run our projects effectively.
If we don’t succeed then we have to make choices and some projects will not run,
which is hard on the people it hits.
Play Montgomeryshire does not charge more than a nominal rate for most of its services:
craft materials are sold at cost price, toys are hired out for as little as 50p,
and subs at the youth clubs are 50p or £1.
Every year we have to apply to a range of funding organisations, and we would like
to say thank you to each of them for their help and support, including:
The public sector – European funding, Welsh Assembly Government, Powys County Council
and Town and Community Councils
Range of Lottery grants - Arts, Community Chest, Awards for All and others
Charitable trusts – Children in Need and many others.
Information about donations appears in our accounts. Copies of current and previous
years’ accounts are available on request.
We help many children, young people and families through our range of projects, each
costing between £10,000 and £15,000 a year to run. We always need more funds, not
only for the big projects, but often for items that are not ‘trendy’ – dressing-up
clothes, cooking ingredients, first aid boxes, public liability insurance, stamps,
mending broken toys and so on.
If you know of a funding source or want to carry out a fundraising event please get
in touch; we can provide you with help such as press releases, posters, typing, insurance
and copying sponsor forms.
